You can help us provide the highest quality veterinary care for your animals.
When you call the clinic because your animal is sick or injured and you need to
make an appointment, please be prepared with some basic information that will
help the staff. Try to have relevant information before calling. For example,
what are the symptoms your animal is experiencing and how long have the symptoms
been present? Has the animal been eating, drinking, urinating, and defecating
normally? Any diarrhea or vomiting noticed? How many times and for how long?
Temperature? Lethargic? Is the animal is bleeding, from what area? How much
blood? Bleeding for how long? Would you like an appointment at our clinic or do
you need the doctor to make a farm call? If you need a farm call, where is the
animal? At your home in Anchorage or the Valley, or at a barn in Anchorage or
the Valley? What days and times are convenient for you? What days and times are
inconvenient for you?
Our front desk staff receives many phone calls from clients who ask that the
doctor diagnose an animal without making an appointment, or to prescribe
medications without examining the animal. Please recognize that, while our
doctors are very educated and experienced, they cannot provide this service.
Certainly, you would not expect your own physician to diagnose your symptoms
without an examination and laboratory tests. Similarly, our patients need to be
seen by the veterinarian for an examination and possibly lab work to determine
their condition.
